Rory Brown, Jr.

Rory grew up spearing lobster, grouper, and hogfish and fishing for bonefish, tuna, and sailfish. Early in his fishing career, he spent most of his time snook fishing on dock lights as well as chasing massive Jack Crevalle during the mullet run. In 2016, Rory was runner up for the Billfish Foundation Tag and Release Competition for most Pacific Sailfish released by a youth angler.

Rory is now based in Charleston, SC, where he actively pursues the evasive South Carolina Tarpon. He founded Fish!t to make fishing more accessible to all anglers, whether off a boat, a pier, or a dock.

Christian Steichen

Christian is a native of Charleston, SC and has fished the local waters since before he was born. As a youth angler, Christian won the meat fish category of the Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament, and holds the South Carolina State Record for Dolphin (Mahi Mahi). In addition to his offshore success, he is an avid fly fisherman (both fresh and saltwater).

Our resident expert in losing Tarpon, Christian joins Rory in pursuit of the S.C. Silver King.

G.T. Nicklaus

Gary Thomas Nicklaus, or GT, has been spearfishing since he was three years old. GT grew up out-spearing Rory (Fish!t founder) on every trip. Making dives up to 55 feet, GT always managed to find and bring the biggest grouper to the boat. Outside of spearfishing, GT loves to fish for snook on dock lights at night. Because of his humble personality, many of his closest friends do not know that GT recently made a hole-in-one at the Masters.

T. H. Key

Born and raised in the low country, Thomas Henry Key has been fishing South Carolina waters for longer than he can remember. Being the son of a fishing captain, Thomas Henry grew up on the water. He spends many of his days working as a mate on the Full Pull, a sports fisher out of Toler’s Cove Marina. The Full Pull has placed in many of the biggest offshore fishing tournaments on the East Coast including the White Marlin open and the Governor’s Cup.

When Thomas Henry isn’t 60 miles offshore, he spends his time wading the flats for monster tailing redfish.

Trace Dorminy

Born in Tifton, GA, Trace was raised in Charleston, SC by an avid fisherman (and winner of the World’s Strongest Man Competition). In 2013, Trace’s team won the Wounded Warrior Project Cobia Tournament in Hilton Head, SC with a 72 lb Cobia. Mr. Dorminy is a rabid offshore fisherman who enjoys catching the tasty swordfish, any billfish, and giant grouper.

Trace will matriculate from Camden County High School in 2019 and plans to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he plans on playing football and fishing.

Ryan Myers

Ryan Myers grew up fishing and diving in Stuart, Florida. He spends 8 months a year traveling to spearfish, train, and compete internationally and is currently training for his second spearfishing World Championship.

He has maintained a national ranking as the #1 competitive spearfisherman in the United States for the last 4 years and was 1st place individual and 1st place team in 2017 at the USA National Spearfishing Championships.

Ryan is a USCG licensed captain, advanced PADI Freedive instructor, International Spearfishing Academy instructor, and a 5 time IUSA world record holder.

Captain Brad Phillips

Capt Brad Philipps has released more billfish than anyone on the planet. With 30,000 billfish releases to his credit, and 17 seasons of experience on these waters, Guatemalan Billfishing Adventures has gained the reputation of being the finest bill-fishing operation anywhere.

Brad has been awarded The Billfish Foundations prestigious Release Captain of the Year Award, and Sailfish Release Captain of the Year Award, 16 times in the past 17, and also the Pacific Blue Marlin Release Captain of the Year Award for 3 times in the past years.

bri andrassy

Bri Andrassy

Bri Andrassy caught her first keeper at the age of three on a kid’s Mickey Mouse rod and has been hooked ever since. She started paddling to spearfish the South Florida reefs and SUP camp in primitive locations. She later combined her love for paddling with her love for fishing and became an avid SUP angler. Bri first started SUP fishing by building her own setup on a regular stand up paddleboard, and was soon discovered by BIC SUP one day as she was preparing to paddle out. She was selected to be one of the hosts of the TV paddle series Facing Waves that airs on Fox Sports and the Nautical channel.

She is finishing her doctorate at a Florida University where she also teaches undergraduate students. Some people are born with a desire for adventure and others discover it. Bri was born with it and is now helping others to discover it.
